Sept. 8, 2012. We need you!
This event is logistically complicated and we can use help with everything from registration, support drivers, food/water stations, photography, medical support, and cheerleaders. We’ll take groups or individuals of all ages!
Due to the complicated nature of this event, we begin recruiting volunteers early in the summer so that all volunteers receive adequate training and comprehensive information about the weekend’s itinerary. If you are interested in volunteering, the earlier you contact us the better!
We have divided the route into 25 mile sections. Each section includes a checkpoint and volunteers are responsible for all support (including the checkpoint) within their section. Each team should have at least one or two vehicles and drivers for each. Certain sections require more support than others – Teams of 4 or 5 and up to 8-10 people are the most effective. We will place individuals into teams that need more people.
If you live in the North Conway or Lincoln areas – this event is for you! But we will take anyone willing to travel. Please keep in mind, this event REQUIRES early morning participation (in some cases, as early as 6 or 7am) and you should be available for the entire day (until at least 5pm). This can be flexible, depending on the section you are assigned…please let us know your schedule and availability upon your inquiry.
Please let us know if you are interested and we can send you more details. Also, feel free to spread the word to anyone else that might like to join us!
*PLEASE NOTE: The volunteer opportunities here are available for the ONE DAY/Century option. Northeast Passage does specific recruiting for the very few volunteer opportunities that are available for the three and two day options. If you are interested in spending the entire weekend with us, please contact us, however, there are limited spots and we cannot guarantee a position will be available. We will certainly put you to work during Saturday’s event. Thank you for your interest!
