40 Mile Ride

40 Mile Loop from the North Conway Grand Hotel to Bear Notch Road and back to North Conway. This is a great option for family and friends of Century riders (but all are welcome!).

Itinerary:

Participants will register at the North Conway Grand Hotel in North Conway, NH and will ride 40 miles. Rider level should coincide with mileage and terrain to be covered.

Registration starts at 8AM sharp at the North Conway Grand Hotel. There will be a mass start at 9:00 AM. 40 mile riders should arrive back in North Conway with participants of the Three Day ride and faster Century riders…just in time for post-ride festivities!

Route:

Starting at the North Conway Grand Hotel in North Conway, participants will ride out of North Conway on Rt. 16 and take a right onto Eastside Rd. Ride through the covered bridge and take a right onto West Side Rd. Take a left onto Passaconway Rd. and ride to the junction of Rt. 112 West and hop on the Kancamagus Highway.  Riders will take a right onto Bear Notch Road and stop at the Bear Notch Overlook (CHECKPOINT) for snacks, water, etc. and will continue down Bear Notch (a superb, newly paved downhill!) into Bartlett. Take a right in Bartlett onto Route 16 and continue on through Glen and Intervale and in North Conway, take a left (at the light, after Joe Jones) onto Kearsarge Road. Take a right (at the railroad tracks) onto North South Road. Take a right into Settler’s Green and the North Conway Grand Hotel.

The route will be marked with red and white signs.

Support:

This ride will be fully supported with both a SAG Wagon and a checkpoint at the Bear Notch Overlook. Each rider is required to check in at the Overlook Checkpoint.

Bagels and coffee will be available for breakfast during registration. The check point will have water and Gatorade, as well as snacks (including peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, hummus, crackers, fruit, granola bars, cookies). You will not go hungry!

If you have specific dietary needs, please let us know ahead of time. Also, if you have specific hydrating beverages or energy snacks that you prefer, please feel free to bring them along and we’ll make sure it gets to each check point.

Registration:

Registration is open! If you do not wish to register online, please contact Northeast Passage by phone at 603-862-0070. Registration is available the “day of”, but we would prefer that you register by 9/5/2014.

Registration includes event t-shirt, one checkpoint at the Bear Notch overlook, post event party and timing.

Cost:

The cost for the ride is $75. Participants can fundraise or pay this cost out of pocket. Participants are also encouraged to raise additional funds to support Northeast Passage’s adaptive sports programs. There will be a significant prize for the highest fundraiser. Prizes will also be awarded in other categories. The cost includes Three Notch Century t-shirt, check point and post-event meal.
Please note: Due to the logistics of this event, we cannot provide refunds for registration fees or fundraising dollars. We appreciate your understanding.

Pre-Event Lodging:

We encourage you to spend the weekend in the White Mountains – bring family and friends to enjoy the North Conway area.. The hotel has an indoor and outdoor pool (and hot tub for sore muscles) and there are lots of area attractions!

The North Conway Grand has set aside a block of rooms for our riders (mention  Group Block: NEPASSCI when you call). Please make your reservations early (deadline for the group rate and one-night guarantee is August 7)! To book, call the reservations line at 1-800-655-1452.

Hotel Rates:
$129/night without breakfast
$139/night (single occupancy) with breakfast, $149/night (double occupancy) with breakfast
You can choose if you want to include the full hot breakfast buffet when you call to make your reservations.
The North Conway Grand will allow you to book for Friday and/or Saturday nights.
