Sept. 10, 11 & 12, 2010

The Three Notch Century will challenge cyclists to conquer 100 miles in three days. This event is appropriate for bicyclists and handcyclists. The ride will take participants on a challenging and scenic ride through the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Cyclists will begin at The Kanc Motor Lodge in Lincoln, NH and ride through Franconia Notch, Crawford Notch and the Kancamagus Highway.

Itinerary:

Participants will meet at The Kanc Motor Lodge on Friday, Sept. 10 and will cover 100 miles over 3 days. Beginning at The Kanc, day one will cover 35 miles through Franconia Notch and will end at the AMC Highland Center. On day two, the team will descend through Crawford Notch and into North Conway, covering 25 miles and staying at the North Conway Grand Hotel in North Conway. Day three will cover a grueling 38 miles up and over the Kancamagus Pass, just below tree line, then descend and finish back at The Kanc Motor Lodge.

Sections of the route will be on dedicated bike paths and other sections will be on major roads. Van support will be available; however rider level should coincide with mileage and terrain to be covered.

Registration will begin at 9:00am on Friday, 9/10. Depending on the speed of riders, we will finish between 1-3:00pm back at The Kanc on Sunday.

Cost:

The cost for the three day ride is $350 . Participants can fundraise or pay this cost out of pocket. Participants are also encouraged to raise additional funds to support Northeast Passage’s adaptive sports programs. There will be a significant prize for the highest fundraiser. Prizes will also be awarded in other categories. The cost includes all meals and lodging.

Pre-Event Lodging:

The Kancamagus Motor Lodge in Lincoln is offering a special deal for riders who would like to stay the night before we depart. Rooms will be $89 a night and include a continental breakfast. Accessible rooms available. This will put you right at the start of the event! Please mention “Three Notch Century” when booking.

Team Captains:

Team Captains will recruit friends and family to join the fun! Team Captains are asked to recruit and encourage new riders to participate and fundraise for Northeast Passage.

Bike rentals:

Northeast Passage has a limited number of adaptive cycles for participants to use. Participants should notify Northeast Passage ahead of time if they are interested in using an adaptive cycle for the event. Participants should also plan to rent the cycle for training purposes, prior to the event. Cycles are available on a first come, first serve basis.
